Critical Update!

So, it's been a while!

Various real-life problems presented themselves in March of '08, and clearly, that led to a severe delay in getting IOTD off the ground. But, I have some good news!

Circumstances are conspiring to give this podcast a shot in the arm and a chance at starting very shortly.

First off, you can listen to me talking gaming news with Dan, of R&D fame, over at www.thegeekmedia.com, replacing Rob for one episode. Look for the 02/18/2009 episode to hit the RSS feed soon!

Second, I've been in talks with two separate podcasters, who plan to start up brand new podcasts for you all, to contribute a short clip of IotD content to their shows! More on this as it develops.

So, things aren't looking so bad anymore!

Microphone Woes defeated!

Well, all we need now is a hosting site for podcasts, and IotD will be under production!

Current Hurdles

So, there are currently two hurdles in producing IotD that I'm leaping.

One is the lack of a headset. One of my kittens chewed through a necessary cord on my headset, and it's dead now.

The other is a place to actually put the podcasts. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Icon of the Defender Blog is Live!

Hello folks! I'm Rock, and once this ball gets rolling 100%, I'll be your host for Icon of the Defender podcast.

Who am I? I'm a twenty-something gamer living in the US, and I've been gaming for most of my life. I've been told that I have the unique gift of seeing both sides of a given issue, and I intend to put it to good use on the podcast. I've played a whole mess of MMORPGs, from your more common graphical ones (EQ, EVE Online, WoW, AO, AC1) to text-based ones (MUDs, MUSHes, MUXes).

What IS the podcast, you ask? Well, it aims to be a general roleplaying podcast, something that both newbies to the art and those of us who have done it for a long time can listen to. Tips and tricks, dos and don'ts, in as broad a way as possible.

The games that I play (World of Warcraft, Anarchy Online, EVE Online) may be used as examples in a given instance, but I will try my best to make this podcast universal.

For now, that's it! Soon, I'll post a bit more about things as they come up.
